WILLIAM P. GOULD and SARAH MILLER of The Town of Reading, Schuyler County, New York 
1. WILLIAM P.1 GOULD, was born at Orange County, New York, on 9 December 1762, and he died at Reading Center, Schuyler County, New York, on 26 February 1841. He married at Orange County on 12 April 1782, SARAH MILLER , born at Smith's Clove, Orange County, New York, on 19 April 1767, the daughter of John and Lydia (Parker) Miller. She died at Hector, Schuyler County, New York, on 17 November 1862. Both William P. and Sarah Gould were buried at the Reading Center Cemetery, Reading Center, Schuyler County, New York. Notes for William P. Gould The parents of William P. Gould have not been proven at this time. The will of a William Stout mentions "William Gould as the son of his deceased daughter, Charity." It has always been stated by family genealogists that this Charity Stout was the mother of William P. Gould. Research has proven that Charity Stout was born on 1 August 1798, making it impossible for her to be William P.'s mother. It has not been determined just which Gould it was that Charity Stout married, but it was must have been her second husband as she first married Robert Caton. She could have married William P's son William W. Gould born in 1801 as she was about the same age as William W. William P. Gould enlisted at Orange County, New York, on 28 July 1780, as a Private in Captain James Blakslee's Company of the First Regiment of New York and served with the Regiment at West Point, New York. William Gould appeared on the 1790 Federal Census for Orange County in New Cornwall, but does not appear for 1800. He was either missed by the census taker or had moved on to another county. There is, however, a John Gould listed in Orange County (pg 327:reel #1), which could be William's father or brother. The 1800 census also lists a William Goold and a Daniel Goold living in Ulster County, which is adjacent to and northwest from Orange County and this could be William P. and a brother. It is believed, but not verified, that William P. did have a brother named Daniel. By the time the 1810 Federal Census was taken, William P. had moved to the New York Finger Lakes District, settling in Seneca County, where he lived at the Towns of Ovid and Lodi. His ninth and tenth children (John Caton Gould and Thomas Bradner Gould) were born in the Towns of Ovid and Lodi, respectively. William P. does not show up on the 1810 Federal Census in Seneca County, however, there is a William T. Gold on the census for that year in Seneca County. The children listed on the census records with William T. are a "fit" for William P.'s family. Since we know there were Goulds in Seneca County at this time and none are listed, and whereas all Goulds in Seneca County are listed as Gold on the 1810 census records, it is believed that the William T. Gold is actually William P. Gould. According to the 1820 Federal Census, Willaim P. had moved to Ontario (now Yates) County, New York, where he lived in the Town of Milo. He purchased land in Reading, Steuben County, New York in 1827, and appears on the 1830 Federal Census for the Town of Reading. Also on the 1830 census is a Bradner Gould, age 20-30, married with a son under 5. This could be Thomas Bradner Gould, William P.'s youngest son. At the time of William P.'s death in 1841, the family was living at Reading Center, New York. After his death, his widow Sarah Gould went to live with her son William Gould at Hector, Tompkins County, New York. Both Towns, Reading Center and Hector, are now in Schuyler County. This County, Schuyler, was taken from Chemung, Steuben and Tompkins Counties on April 1, 1854.
Generation 210. JOHN CATON2 GOULD(William P.1), was born at the Town of Ovid, Seneca County, New York, on 10 February 1807. He died at Bath, Steuben County, New York, on 8 June 1881. He married first before 1831, JANE ANN STOUT , born at Readington, Somerset County, New Jersey, on 26 September 1811, the daughter of John Wyckoff and Rebecca (Stewart) Stout. She died at Bath on 18 Janaury 1859. He married second before 1861, LYDIA BAILIAN, born at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1830.
11. THOMAS BRADNER2 GOULD(William P.1), was born at the Town of Lodi, Seneca County, New York, on 5 April 1810, and he died at Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 18 January 1887. He married first in New York in about 1829, SUSANNA --- , born in about 1810. She died possibly at the Town of Jerusalem, Yates County, New York, in about 1833. He married second in New York, in about 1835, CYNTHIA PERMELIA OVIATT, born in New York, in about 1808. She died in Michigan, on 21 September 1889. He married third about 1881/86, ELIZABETH OLIVER, born in New York, in October 1833, the daughter of Simon and Mary (Wright) Oliver, Sr. She died on 8 December 1914. It is not know where Thomas Bradner's first wife Susanna is buried. He and his second wife Cynthia were buried at Lake Ridge Cemetery, Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. His third wife Elizabeth was buried with her parents at the Ridgeway Cemetery. Notes for Thomas Bradner Gould The 1830 Federal Census for Steuben County, Town of Reading, lists a Bradner Gould who is an exact fit for Thomas Bradner Gould. If this is Thomas B., it would be correct to assume that Thomas married his first wife in Steuben County and she may be buried there in the Reading Cemetery. He was married on the 1835 Census for the Town of Jerusalem, Yates County, New York, and it is assumed that this was his second wife, Cynthia Permelia Oviatt, as their first child was born in June of 1836. Thomas Bradner Gould came to Michigan in 1844, probably from the Town of Italy, Yates County, New York, and settled on a farm located on Preston Road, Macon Township, Lenawee County, where he died in 1887. His obituary states that he had two children by his first marriage, nine children by his second marriage and none from the third marriage. The will of Thomas Bradner Gould lists his wife as Elizabeth. In the estate papers accompanying the will, his wife signed off as Elizabeth. His death notice mentions the three wives and the children being from the first and second marriages, but does not mentions the wives by name. The obituary is probably correct, but fails to mention a divorce from Cynthia Permilia after 1880, and a subsequent marriage to Elizabeth Oliver. Thomas B. died of nephritis or kidney failure. Certain types of nephritis were formerly known as Bright's disease and was so listed on Thomas B.'s death certificate. Nehpritis was a genetic disease in this family, as according to their death certificates, Thomas, B., his son James B. and daughter Phebe Ann all died of Bright's disease. It is a family tradition that Thomas Bradner Gould gave each of his children a farm. We do not know if there is any truth to this story, but many of his children did live on farms very near to him. Phoebe Ann and Peter W. Miller, Jr. lived on the Britton Highway, between Milwaukee and Smith Roads. Thomas Bradner Gould, Jr. lived on Preston Road just north of the Ridge Road. Simon Gould lived on Welch Road and James Bradner Gould lived next door to his father on Preston Road. Merilla and Andrew Shaler also lived on Preston Road. Lewis Gould lived on Smith Road, just across the county line in Milan Township. Other children may have lived close by as Thomas Bradner Gould owned three farms in Macon Township. An 1874 map of Macon Township shows him as owner of three farms, and some of the children may have been living on those farms. Most of his children were not more than a mile or two from his farm on Preston Road. The family picture album once owned by Vesta (Gould) Richards of Ann Arbor and now in the possession of John M. Mangus, contains many pictures of the children of Thomas Bradner Gould. Included are Phoebe Ann and her husband Peter W. Miller, their daughter Allie and her husband Gains Squires, Smith Gould and Palmer Gould. There is also a picture of the Shaw sisters with Charles Henry Gould and Francis Gould. JOHN WYCKOFF3 GOULD (John Caton2, William P.1), was born at the Town of Barrington, Yates County, New York, on 11 February 1831, and he died at Bath, Steuben County, New York, on 24 April 1910. He was buried at the Nonondaga Cemetery, Steuben County, New York. He married at Bath on 14 December 1850, JANE A. MORGAN, born on 21 November 1833. She died on 1 January 1904.
14. REBECCA JANE3 GOULD (John Caton2, William P. 1), was born at Bath, Steuben County, New York, on 6 May 1833, and she died at Mulliken, Eaton County, Michigan, on 2 March 1932. She married in New York in 1851, GEORGE A. SMOCK, born in 1817. He died at Mulliken on 28 June 1892. Notes for George A. Smock George A. Smock came to Michigan from Wayne County, New York.
16. WILLIAM HENRY3 GOULD (John Caton2, William P.1), was born at the Town of Barrington, Yates County, New York, on 4 March 1838, and he died at Mulliken, Eaton County, Michigan, on 25 January 1924. He married at Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan, on 5 April 1868, JANE ANN BOYER, born at Herkimer, Herkimer County, New York, on 9 August 1846, the daugher of Henry and Catherine (Newman) Boyer. She died at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 10 July 1916. William and Jane were buried at Mulliken Cemetery, Eaton County, Michigan.
18. ABRAHAM STOUT3 GOULD (John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Bath, Steuben County, New York, on 20 October 1842, and he died at Savona, Steuben County, New York, on 26 February 1928. He married on 11 September 1865, LIZZIE ALMIRA PLAISTED, born at Bath, New York, on 16 March 1847, the daughter of James Harmon and Mary (Smith) Plaisted. She died at Pueteney, Steuben County, New York, in 1932.

JAMES BRADNER3 GOULD (Thomas Bradner2, William P.1), was born at the Town of Jerusalem, Yates County, New York, on 7 June 1830, and he died at Milan Township, Monroe County, Michigan, on 9 September 1885. He married in Michigan on 11 December 1846, MARY ANN AUSTIN, born at the Town of Tyrone, Steuben County, New York, on 8 May 1827, the daughter of Silas and Hannah (Prentiss) Austin, Jr. She died at Milan Township on 5 February 1908. James Bradner and Mary Ann (Austin) Gould were buried at Lake Ridge Cemetery, Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. The 1850 and 1860 Federal Census for Lenawee County, Michigan, lists James Bradner Gould living close by his father Thomas B. Gould, possibly on the next farm on Preston Road in Macon Township. By the 1870 Federal Census, James B. Gould is living in Milan Township, Monroe County, Michigan, on a farm located at the northeast corner of Welch and Dennison Roads. Notes for Mary Ann Austin After James B.'s death in 1885, Mary Ann went to live with her daughter Sarah Elizabeth (Gould) Knowles on Hickory Street in Milan Township, where she died in 1908. A family story states that Mary Ann so disapproved of card playing that when the Knowles family played cards she would turn her chair around so that her back was to the table and she could not see them playing cards. Mary Ann's bible in possession of John M. Mangus. In her bible she had written: "Mrs. Mary Ann Gould was born in the state of newyork Stuben county town of tyrone 1827 and lived there most the time untill in my twenteth year then moved to Michigan lenaway co macon and then to miland monroe co."
29. PHOEBE ANN3 GOULD (Thomas Bradner2, William P.1), was born at the Town of Jerusalem, Yates County, New York, on 17 January 1832, and she died at Macon, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 2 January 1894. She married at Macon Township on 11 December 1852, PETER WHIPPLE MILLER, Jr. born in New York on 15 June 1820, the son of Peter Whipple and Lydia (---) Miller, Sr. He died at Macon Township on 17 June 1876. Peter W. and Phoebe Ann Miller, Jr. are buried at Lake Ridge Cemetery, Macon Township. Notes for Peter W. Miller, Jr. A picture of Peter W. He married before 1869, MARY ELIZABETH DORIELL, born at Milan Township, Monroe County, Michigan, in about 1850, the daughter of William and Elizabeth "Betsy" (Hutchins) Doriell. WILLIAM FRANKLIN4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 28 December 1878, and he died at Gilbert, Maricopa County, Arizona, on 11 February 1925. He was buried at Gilbert, Arizona. He married at Six Lakes, Montcalm County, Michigan, on 24 September 1904, ALICE BENNETT, born on 14 March 1887, the daughter of William Henry and Ida (Welch) Bennett. She died on 18 October 1913, and was buried at Mancelona, Antrim County, Michigan.
59. GRACE MAE4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 19 November 1880, and she died on 2 September 1914. She married on 9 November 1898, FRANK E. GUILFORD.

CATHERINE ANN4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 5 December 1882, and she died at Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan, in January 1978. She married at Charlotte on 9 December 1900, CHARLES BYRON GOODRICH, born at Benton Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 1 October 1874, the son of Byron Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Leahr) Goodrich. He died at Charlotte on 22 March 1945, and was buried at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken, Eaton County, Michigan.
61. FRED EARL4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Mulliken, Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 15 November 1884, and he died on 13 May 1969. He was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. He married at Portland, Ionia County, Michigan, on 4 July 1907, LENA CAROLINE CRANDELL, born at Hudson, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 10 January 1889, the daughter of Charles Bacon and Augusta Ann (Rood) Crandell. She died on 14 February 1929, and was buried at Hudson, Michigan. Notes for Fred Earl Gould Fred Gould was a carpenter by trade doing building, contracting and cabinet work, both in wood and metal. He was a member of the Adrian Eagles and a former member of the Michigan National Guard with Co. B in 1916, serving in El Paso, Texas during the Mexican border uprising. In 1943 he went from Lansing to make his home in Adrian with his youngest daughter Marion. He was employed at the Kewanee Manufacturing Company until his retirement in 1958.
62. DELLA MAE4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 5 March 1887, and she died at Lake, Clare County, Michigan, on 12 May 1980. She was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. She married on 28 June 1903, WALTER THOMAS KISOR, born at Belle Plain, Scott County, Minnesota, on 5 September 1884, the son son of Charles and Kathleen (Kalan) Kisor. He died on 30 August 1959.
63. JAMES HARRISON4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 14 May 1889. He married on 24 September 1913, MARY LYDIA HOLBROOK, born at Danby Township, Ionia County, Michigan, on 25 October 1896. Notes for James Harrison Gould James and Mary Gould resided in Grand Ledge, Michigan.
64. FLOSSIE VIVA4 GOULD (William Henry3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan, on 14 May 1889, and she died at Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, on 27 August 1971. She was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, Michigan. She married on 4 May 1913, ERY SANDERS, born at Olivet, Eaton County, Michigan, on 6 April 1884, the son of Amasa and Alice (Walker) Sanders. He died at Lansing on 7 February 1951.
65. MAURICE4 GOULD (Abraham Stout3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born on 10 May 1869. He married, HARRIET SEYBOLT.
66. BERTHA RAYMOND4 GOULD (Abraham Stout3, John Caton2, William P.1), was born at Rexville, Steuben County, New York, on 9 March 1872, and she died at Pulteney, Steuben County, New York, on 21 May 1958. She married first in about 1895, ALONZO PEPPER. She married second on 12 April 1906, LEWIS MARTIN FRENCH, born at the Town of Jerusalem, Yates County, New York, on 27 June 1871, the son of Samuel Martin and Adaline Cordelia (Wright) French. He died at Lockport, Niagara County, New York, on 4 June 1944. He was buried at Branchport, Yates County, New York.
68. FRANCIS4 GOULD (James Bradner3, Thomas Bradner2, William P.1), was born at Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 13 November 1848, and he died at Saline, Washtenaw County, Michigan, on 2 May 1925. He married first in about 1871, CHLOE ANN (SHAW) GOULD, the widow of GEORGE GOULD, an uncle to Francis Gould. Chloe was born at York Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, on 13 August 1843, the daughter of Thomas and Ann (---) Shaw. She died on 15 June 1872. He married second on 16 February 1876, SARAH ANN JOHNSTON, born on 31 August 1851, the daughter of John T. and Charlotte (Veselius) Johnston. She died on 17 October 1926. Francis and Sarah were buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Saline, Washtenaw County, Michigan. Notes for Francis Gould Francis Gould spent most of his adult life on a farm 2 1/2 miles south-east of Saline. In about 1915 he moved into a house on West Henry Street in Saline where he lived until his death in 1925. His death was the result of being crushed in the cave in of a sand pit located on the farm of a Jacob Clough. In his will, Francis cut out his daughter Leah (Gould) Tukesberry with the statement that Leah "had caused me to expend in useless and unjust litigation more than what would be her share of my estate." Apparently she had filed a lawsuit to receive her share of the estate before his death. He did give Leah the gold watch and all personal property which had belonged to her late mother and his former wife, Chloe Ann (Shaw) Gould. Notes for Chloe Ann Shaw: Chloe Ann Gould was listed on the Michigan 1860 Federal Census for York Township as a teacher.
69. JOHN MILTON4 GOULD (James Bradner3, Thomas Bradner2, William P.1), was born at Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 30 April 1851, and he died on 28 December 1885. He was buried at Lake Ridge Cemetery, Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. He married before 1874, MARIAH VAN ORMAN, born Michigan about 1857.
70. SARAH ELIZABETH "LIBBY"4 GOULD (James Bradner3, Thomas Bradner2, William P.1), was born at Macon Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 9 February 1857, and she died at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, on 21 July 1934.
